People start buying new clothes and buy gifts for their relatives and friends. Even Christmas delights like plum cakes, pastries, pudding and pies are made for friends and family. The Christmas tree is bedecked and is being set up at houses. And even gifts are arranged for everyone. Special midnight masses are held in the church and even these churches are beautifully decorated.

At homes, church and shopping malls some nativity scenes are been set up. The visit of Santa Claus visit is most awaited by the children. They hang up the socks and hope to get some expected surprise gift. At places like shopping malls and gift stores, a person dress like Santa clause share gifts and distribute chocolate among the children. Christmas parties are also held in winter break.

The peak time for tourism and travel in India is winter. The busiest time in India is the Christmas week. The hotels and tour agents are busy in this season. The most preferred location to visit this season is Goa. In Goa, people look forward for the festival which is full of music, tasty food and dance.

The other popular destinations during these Christmas days are the hill station in India. The Christmas can be celebrated with great fun if the tourist is lucky enough to visit this place in Christmas week. Hotels also offer some special packages for the tourist during Christmas. They even organize the special events for the tourist so that the guest feels good while celebrating this festival. Some of the popular hill station in India is Shimla, Darjeeling, Kodaikanal, and Ooty. Christmas is celebrated with full joy in this hill station.
